Kybella Treatment
What is kybella treatment?
Kybella is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness (fat pad under the chin). Once injected Kybella breaks apart fat cells in the treated area, eliminating the presence of the existing fat. Kybella is used in a series of 2-3 treatments. Once the aesthetic response of the treatment is achieved with Kybella, retreatment is not expected to be necessary. Patients are drawn to Kybella over liposuction because it is less invasive, requires less recovery time and the results tend to be more permanent.

What can I expect during treatments?
The patient will tense the platysma. The doctor will pinch the submental fat and, using a 30 gauge 0.5-inch needle, inject 0.2 mL of Kybella into the pre-platysmal fat next to each of the marked injection sites by advancing the needle perpendicular to the skin.
What can I expect from the results?
Kybella results are noticeable at four to six weeks and are permanent.
What to expect after treatment?
Swelling and redness are common side effects. These are temporary and should subside within a few days after your treatment.
